When it comes to choosing a children’s dental office in Mason City, your child deserves the very best. Burgmeier Dentistry is known for our knowledgeable & friendly staff, having a family-friendly, comfortable office with a play area for kids, and our commitment to the latest technology. We strive to build trusting relationships with each child while getting your child comfortable with us – a very important first step in creating a lifelong comfort level at the dentist office.
We like to start seeing our patients’ children when they’re about 6 months of age, and then every 6 months after that. Burgmeier Dentistry strives to make dental visits be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible for your children. We focus on this commitment at every appointment with your child gaining trust along the way. We begin by starting with the parent and child together and then work our way to the point where the child jumps into the chair and exclaims “Hi Dr. Dan!” with a big grin.
The goal of each visit is to not only make the child comfortable, but to offer education on preventative dentistry for both the parent(s) and the child. Watching for signs of problems in jaw and tooth development, and teaching kids how to brush their teeth, are an important part of regular dentist visits.
Sometimes we’ll start seeing changes in a child’s mouth early on, and with proper care and observation we can reduce the need for orthodontic care – or at least reduce the time that the child is wearing braces and/or retainers.
We take our children’s dental practice very seriously, but it’s also a lot of fun. Our Cavity-Free Club, and our Smile Photo Board on the wall and on our website, are big favorites around our office. Every time a child has a perfect check-up, we put their name in a hat and at the end of each month draw one name. The winner receives a gift card to somewhere they like to shop and their photo is added to our photo gallery. What’s really fun is to see all those big smiles from year to year, knowing that the dentist office is not a scary place for our patients.
Whether you have new baby at your house, or children who are currently afraid of the dentist, taking the time to get them comfortable with the dental office environment is the first step in making it a less-frightening experience. The staff and dentists at Burgmeier Dentistry know that when kids aren’t afraid of the dentist, they’ll also take better care of their teeth throughout their lifetime. And that’s great news for everyone involved.
We invite you to come in and relax! Parents are welcomed into the practice by our warm, friendly environment and staff. Make yourself at home and enjoy a cup of coffee and free WiFi in our comfortable reception area. It is our goal to make your experience with us as wonderful as your child’s!
